Those enrolled in the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive a benefit increase starting next month of about $36 per person. The additional money comes from a federal cost adjustment aimed at providing low-income individuals and families better access to healthy foods. The increase totals $1.4 billion for New York.
