New York is to receive $4.25 million over a 5-year-period to to help prevent prescription drug and opioid overdose-related deaths and adverse events. The grant is from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and pays for first responder training and overdose prevention along with resources for other community-based service providers and partners, as well as individuals and families.
