The union representing New York State Troopers says it’s outraged that the suspect accused of shooting a trooper in Deposit is now out on bail. Attorneys for Scott Mawhiney argued he was not a public threat and a judge agreed. The union’s president says Mawhiney’s release is another failure of New York’s bail reform law.
