Oneonta Requires Mask Wearing In All City Buildings

Due to the rapid increase in new cases of COVID 19 the City of Oneonta is now requiring all visitors to city buildings to wear a mask at all times. All city staff will be required to wear masks while on duty unless they are alone in their office, vehicle, or workspace. Source: Press release

The Otsego County Department of Health reports 9 new COVID-19 cases on Monday bring the active case total to 72 with 4 people hospitalized. Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Has New Investigator

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office has a new investigator. Deputy Sheriff Anthony Grimes was promoted on Monday and given a new shield by Sheriff Richard Devlin Jr. Grimes started his law enforcement career with the New Berlin Police Department before transferring to the Sheriff’s Office in January of 2017. Woman Sentenced In Sherburne Fatal Shooting

The woman taking a plea deal in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend in Sherburne will be in jail for 18 years. Kelley Gillett of Johnson City was sentenced last week and according to the Press and Sun-Bulletin Gillett has not said what led her to fatally shoot Jonathan Ryan last October. Postal Service Extending Transit Time For Some Mail

Starting in October some of your mail could take a little longer to arrive. The Postal Service issued a public notice last week announcing one to two days are being added to the service standard for certain First-Class Mail and Periodicals. Burlington Man Arraigned On Theft Charges

Charges are brought against a Burlington man following an investigation into a stolen wallet and a stolen motor vehicle. Police say the 32-year-old man took those items which belonged to a significant other when that individual was in jail. The man was arraigned then released on his own recognizance.
