Both Seward and his wife Cindy contracted the coronavirus before vaccines were available. Seward ended up being hospitalized. He says that vaccines are the best hope of a full return to normal. Chenango County Implements Mask Requirement

The Chenango County Health Department announces masks are required when inside county-operated buildings. That requirement is regardless of vaccination status. Departmebnt officials are also recommending that businesses, organizations and schools implement a mask requirement. Hochul Announces Plans To Run For Full Gubernatorial Term

Soon-to-be Governor Kathy Hochul says she will be a candidate for Governor next year. The Democrat made the announcent on Thursday saying she is the most prepared person for the job. Hochul also said she will be bringing in her own staff and remove anyone who was named in the Attorney General’s report. The New York State Education Department released a health and safety guide to help schools and school districts as they plan for the 2021-22 school year. The Otsego County Health Department reports the CDC is on the verge of moving the county from a susbtantial level of community COVID-19 transmission to a high level. Distracted Drive Cause of Walton Semi Rollover

Police say it was distracting driving that caused a semi-truck to roll over Tuesday on State Route 206 in the Village of Walton. The driver was hauling empty milk trailers and hit guide wires and a tree near Murphy Hill Road. The driver was not hurt. Route 206 was closed for several hours.
