22nd District Congresswoman Claudia Tenney announces she’s sponsoring a bill that protects qualified immunity for police officers serving at the state and local level. The legislation prevents state and local governments removing qualified immunity protections from applying for certain federal grants. Tenney introduced the measure on Thursday and said accountability and transparency are vital, but removing qualified immunity achieves neither. 121st District Assemblyman John Salka says he supports the bill.
