Harpursville Native Part Of All-Woman Indy Racing Team

You may have heard that this year’s Indy 500 race had its first ever all-woman pit crew team but you may not know that one of the team’s members is a Harpursville native. Amanda Frayer was chosen as a tire changer for driver Simona De Silvestro’s #16 Chevrolet. Frayer tells Fox 40 it was a call from a friend’s dad that led to her getting a spot on the team. She played field hockey at SUNY Oneonta and basketball at SUNY Broome.
