Otsego, Chenango and Delaware Counties are sharing in $10 million of state funding to support 911 dispatch operations. Counties provide the majority of 9-1-1 answering and dispatching operations in New York, coordinating these services among municipal, county and state responders.
The grants will cover expenses plus upgraded technology and services including data communication and improved geo-location for emergency response. The state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services awarded the grants.
