Members of the Norwich Police Department were commended at this week’s Common Council meeting for their actions during an armed stand off along Cortland Street. It happened last Thursday after a caller said they didn’t feel safe and the suspect identified as Bernie Infante of Norwich fired a shot after officers arrived. According to the Evening Sun the officers efforts and teamwork drew praise from council members, the mayor, and Assemblyman Joe Angelino.
