Oneonta Common Council Repeals Mask Ordinance

Most mask wearing requirements in downtown Oneonta will soon be lifted now that the Common Council voted unanimously to rescind a ordinance mandating the coverings. According to All Otsego masks are required at public events, such as the Memorial Day celebrations, because of the amount of people who cannot safely social distance. Churches and businesses are still allowed to set their own mask-wearing rules. After Mayor Gary Herzig signs the new regulation it will take effect 2 weeks later.
