NY Aligns Mask Wearing With CDC Guidelines

Beginning on Wednesday New York will adopt the CDC’s new guidance for mask wearing as it pertains to those who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Masks will still be required on public transit and at homeless shelters, and correctional facilities. Businesses are still allowed to implement their own mask-wearing requirements but they must adhere to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The Department of Health strongly recommends masks in indoor settings where vaccination status of individuals is unknown. As of Sunday 62% of New York’s adults had received at least one vaccine dose and 52% are fully vaccinated.
