A Navy Captain from Bloomville takes charge of the division’s Recruit Training Command. Capt. Jeffry Sandin enlisted in the Navy in 1986 and was commissioned in 1997 through the Limited Duty Officer Program. All enlistees begin their careers at the command in an 8-week-lonk boot camp which trains 40,000 recruits annually. Sandin succeeds Capt. Erik Thors who bame commander in 2018. The change-of-command ceremony was held onboard Naval Station Great Lakes.
