A SUNY Oneonta professor’s findings and recommendations on sustainable fashion knowledge and choices among millenials is used as the basis for an online sustainable fashion business. Dr. Sarah Portway wrote the dissertation in 2018 while obtaining her Doctorate in Philsophy at Cornell University. The developers of Greenlight Shopper created the app to inform clothing shoppers about the ethical practices of, and sustainable alternatives to the fashion companies they support. Dr. Portway continues to consult business entrepreneurs as a faculty advisor.
