The bridge over Steele Creek in Ilion is over a century old and in recent years has been subject to ice jamming and flooding due to the jams. WKTV says The New York State Department of Transportation will be holding a public hearing to gauge public support for a proposed replacement. The project will cost approximately $4.2 million dollars and NYSDOT officials want the public to be aware of alternative options, environmental impacts and the necessary property acquisitions needed. The meeting will take place on Thursday at 6, beginning with a question and answer session. For more information on how to live stream the meeting, go to CNYnews.com.
