Otsego County board Chairman David Bliss has a challenger in the upcoming Nov. 2 elections. Democrat Charles Varney, who operates the Cooperstown Underground Barbershop on Main Street in has announced he intends to run. According to AllOtsego.com, Varney cites mismanagement of city finances, poor COVID19 response and a decline in service by the city as reasons for his run. Varney attended Mohawk Valley Community College and worked as a respiratory therapist before opening his own business.
David Bliss is a Republican and represents District 7, which includes the Village of Cooperstown.
