Oneonta Artist Exhibits at Art Institute in Utica

An Oneonta artist whose work features the beauty in tragedy, will be featured at Munson-William-Proctor Arts Institute’s first exhibit of the year, starting Feb. 27 Richard Friedberg’s sculpture exhibit ‘Terrible Beauty’ showcases work inspired by natural disasters and explosions, like the one on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. His sculptures are made from a flexible aluminum mesh material that allows him to create shapes and outlines of things like smoke and waves. The show runs from the 27th through May 30th in Utica.
