A former SUNY Delhi student gets 3 years’ probation for his plea deal to fraudulently obtaining unemployment benefits. According to prosecutors the student obtained the benefits from California and made over $13,000 in transactions. The student has to made restitution and perform community service. A home in Edmeston is destroyed by fire Tuesday evening. It broke out around 9 00 p.m. in the area of Route 80 and Dinky Joe Road. There’s been no word on if anyone was injuried and the fire’s cause is under investigation. The state’s Office of Cannabis Management is sending cease-and-desist letters to businesses believed to be “gifting” marijuana to get around the prohibition on unlicensed sales.
