A Chenango County Jail inmate is facing additional charges for smuggling drugs into the prison. According to the Sheriff’s Office the inmate identified as Joseph Amaro had ingested the drugs prior to being incarcerated. The drugs were located and secured befor Amaro distributed them to other inmates. Amaro was hospitalized wto be evaluated by medical personnel. Sheriff Cutting states that the investigation is still ongoing, and arrests can be expected in the upcoming days.
