Schumer Seeking Help For CBC Beetle Problem

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer says he will seek federal funding to help stop the spread of a beetle that is targeting specific trees that could potentially affect the baseball bat manufacturing business. Schumer visited Cooperstown Bat Company where he said the invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer is killing ash trees which will drive up the price of raw material. Forest experts say the beetle made its way to New York in 2009 and occupies about 30 counties including Otsego.
