Bill to Start Ridesharing Earlier Passes In Albany

A bill to speed up the start of rideshare services in all of New York is heading to Governor Cuomo’s desk.

The house green-lit the measure that moves the start date for Uber and Lyft to operate outside of New York City from July 9 to June 29 allowing for the services to be running for the Independence Day holiday.

Senators passed the bill last week.

Both rideshare services say they plan to greatly expand once it’s legal to do so.
