Social Media Post Causes Concern In Gilbertsville

A post on social media about contract negotiations between the village of Gilbertsville and its fire department have raised concerns from residents.

On Monday Eagle Fire Engine & Hose Company chief David Robinson took to Facebook saying the village board turned down the department’s contract to extend fire protection and ambulance service.

Mayor Ken Nolan tells a Utica TV station the post made some think they now had no fire department but he said that’s a false report and the current contract between the village and the department is still in effect.
