Grant Awarded For Youth Justice Initiative

Otsego County along with 5 other counties receives a $650,000 federal grant to implement a pilot program to improve outcomes for at risk youth.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the money awarded under the “Second Chance Act” will support a partnership between the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and Kids Oneida to establish the Upstate Juvenile Community Supervision Project.

The project will target youth who are under probation supervision, returning home after a juvenile delinquency placement, and 16- and 17-year-olds who are at risk of committing new crimes.
