DiNapoli Concerned Over Water System Costs

New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says water systems throughout the state could be in need of nearly $40 billion worth of repairs and improvements over the next two decades.

In a statement DiNapoli says many of the drinking systems in the state are more than 100 years old and are operating far beyond their useful life.

DiNapoli is advising local governments to prepare for necessary upcoming repairs and improvements by developing and maintaining multiyear financial and capital plans.
