State, FTC Sue Vitamin Supplement Manufacturer

New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman and the Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against the maker of a vitamin supplement that claims to improve memory through the results of a clinical study.

The suit against Quincy Bioscience says there is no scientific evidence to prove the supplement marketed as Prevagen actually improves memory.

In a press release the AG’s office says the suit seeks a ban on further false claims about Prevagen, restitution for consumers, forfeiture of profits from Prevagen sales and civil penalties for violations of state law.
