Volunteers needed for road cleanup

On Saturday the Otsego County Conservation Association heads out to State Route 80 to clean up the roadway.

This is an area the association has looks after since 2013 through New York’s Adopt-A-Highway program.

The organization is looking for some help and if you’d like to volunteer, be at the OCCA office at the corner of Route 80 and Allen Lake Road at 9am on Saturday.

Trash will be collected along a two-mile stretch of the road. Bags, water, and safety equipment are provided. Participants should wear long pants and sturdy shoes, and bring sunscreen.

If interested in participating, contact Jeff O’Handley at (607) 547-4488.
