Cooperstown nursing home’s former employees arrested for patient neglect

Four former employees of a Cooperstown nursing home have been arrested for neglecting a 94-year-old resident over the Memorial Day weekend this year. The NY Attorney General announced the charges, saying four people including nurses and CNAs at Focus Rehab and Nursing Center left the woman in a recliner for over 41 hours, did not administer her medications or provide basic necessities like providing food and incontinence care. The facility has video cameras that captured the neglect. Three of the defendants are also facing charges of falsifying business records. They appeared in Otsego Town Court and were released on their own recognizance.
