Brooklyn pair arrested in motel search

Two people from Brooklyn were arrested on drug charges yesterday morning during a raid at the Budget Motel on state Route 23 in Oneonta. The Police Department said in a news release that the pair are charged with possession of cocaine and heroin worth about $3,000. The bust was a large one, with about 15 officers executing a search warrant about 8:30 a.m.

Two Brooklyn residents staying at a local motel were arrested Wednesday on charges of possessing illegal drugs to sell, Oneonta police said, and crack cocaine and heroin worth almost $3,000 were confiscated. Dale Rogers and Rameara Sample were arrested and arraigned before Judge Bruce Smith in Oneonta Town Court, assigned attorneys and sent to Otsego County jail in lieu of $30,000 cash or $90,000 bond bail each, according to court records. They are set for a hearing on July 21st. If convicted, they could spend up to 25 years in prison.
