Increased patrols over holiday weekend

A heads up for drivers. Newark police will conduct a high visibility enforcement blitz beginning Friday July first and going through the holiday July 4th. Police will be on State Routes 13, 16, 79, and the 21st Street areas looking for speeders, impaired drivers, and enforcing seatbelt laws. The Ohio Department of Public Safety is funding the blitz. Newark was awarded Impaired Driving Enforcement grant to target specific dangerous driving behaviors over a twelve month period.
