Governor signs bill to eliminate barriers to breast screens

Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law that removes barriers now blocking many women from having potentially lifesaving breast cancer screenings. During his motorcycle trip over New York State as part of his “Get Screened, No Excuses” campaign for breast cancer awareness, the Governor said the new law will eliminate annual deductibles and co-insurance payments for screening and diagnostic imaging for the detection of breast cancer, including mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and MRIs that are covered under a patient’s insurance policy.
