Reduction in Opoid Epidemic May Lie in Electronic Prescriptions

New York lawmakers are trying to cut down on the opoid epidemic with a new law. The legislature’s approved a new amendement to a recently enacted law that requires doctors to submit virtually all prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. The bill would allow doctors and dentists to send the ‘scripts to a secure site that the pharmarcy could then download. Supporters say that way patients don’t have to immediately have to know which pharmcy they want to use.
